Can you describe your photography style?

My style reflects the soul of the subject that I wish to capture. Behind my camera, I let the image grow out of its own organic and natural conditions.

I've been very lucky to shoot some incredible people over the years. I worked very closely with those in my portfolio. I become familiar with their personality; and I focus on that hint of uniqueness that will make their photos extraordinary.

What happens during a consultation? Do I need one?

A consultation gives you the chance to ask questions that aren't included in the FAQs, or mention any special concerns that I would need to know. You may have mood lighting at your event and wonder if that might affect the photography. Or perhaps you want to discuss the type of family portraits you would like to have (In the studio or at home, for example).

Maybe you're fresh out of ideas about how to coordinate with a photographer and need some help coming up with the best ways to capture your personality in a headshot or the spirit of your family during a wedding or birthday party. Together, we can talk about the types of shots you'd like to see. This is also essential for actors, performers, or models who need a headshot or photos for their comp card. There are many creative approaches we can take in order to deliver an one-of-a-kind image.

Also, let's not forget that comfort level is important during any photo shoot. Getting to know each other can calm anxiety and help me take better pictures of you.

How many pictures will you take?

My equipment allows me to take as many photos as I want, all of them in high resolution and of excellent quality. The average number of pictures taken depends on how much time I spend at an event, or could depend on how much time I spend working with my client in the time allotted.

In order not to overwhelm you with too many pictures, I always go through everything I've shot and eliminate duplicates and other unnecessary images. Regardless of this process, I will still present you with an impressive selection of photos that you can choose from.

Do you have backup equipment available if something breaks?

Of course, I have a spare for every piece of equipment I use. I arrive at the shoot with extra batteries, lenses, flash bulbs, and a set of tools. There is also plenty of memory cards so I can take as many pictures as I want.

Do we have to provide you a meal during the event?

Should you choose our package for longer hours (10 or more), then I do expect a small meal as well. Shorter days are no hassle for me at all.

Do you work with a makeup artist or hair stylist who you can recommend?

I do know a small selection of highly talented hair stylists and make-up artists. I have packages that include a make-up artist in the shoot. If you would like to learn more them, then please contact me.

Do you use a flash during the ceremony?

For me, it can become a distracting element to an otherwise peaceful and intimate ceremony. There are several techniques I can use by utilizing the light sources around me to capture images, even in a dimly lit environment.

On the other hand, certain pictures, such as close-ups, may call for flash. And without it, many of these pictures will be difficult to capture.

So, my choice to use flash during the ceremony actually depends on you and what you prefer. We can talk about our options during the consultation.

What happens after the event?

After the event, I use various drives to back up your photos. In the rare chance of an emergency, there is always a copy of the original pictures. In some cases, I will even bring a computer with me so I can back up my images on location.

Then, I meticulously edit all of the pictures I've taken. I get rid of the shots you don't need, and clean up the images. This process takes about 3-5 days. Soon after that, you'll have your completed package available to you.

Do you Photoshop the pictures?

I use Photoshop a great deal with all of my pictures. However, there are no dramatic changes to the image. Photoshop is handy; however, the equipment I use always yields the very best results. I also use a program called iCapture, which helps organize and enhance my final selection of photos.

Common changes made to almost every photograph include such nuisances as over (or under) exposure, bluriness, color balance, the sharpness of the image, etc. It can become an endless process (I am a perfectionist, after all); however, it all pays off when the final product looks completely flawless.

Retouching photographs can range from the minimal (ex. Erasing stray hairs, removing lint on a garment) to major modifications (ex. Remove an object from the picture or digitally apply more make-up to a subject in the photo). If you come across a picture that you think should be retouched, then no problem. We include a few retouched pictures in each package. If you would like additional photos, we also offer that to you for a small fee.

Can you take B&W photography? Is there an additional fee for B&W photos?

Your prints and images normally arrive in color. However, since I shoot with digital equipment, so it's very easy to convert a colored image into B&W.

I enjoy shooting in either style and if I discover a picture that would also look great in B&W or in sepia, then I'll give that to you as an option as well. You can also request to have some or all of your pictures in B&W at no additional cost.

How many hours of coverage are included in your packages?  Are you willing to arrive early to get shots of us before the ceremony if we choose to do that?

Standard packages are already assigned a time allotment of 6-10 hours. I offer a generous amount of time in case you need pictures before your event as well as after. However, if neither of these options suit your situation, we can always come up with a custom package that is tailored to your needs. Let me know what you're exactly looking for and we can make it happen for you.

Will you shoot ‘destination’ weddings?

Traveling is my life! Destination weddings are definitely a possibility. If this is the case, then let me know well in advance so I can make travel arrangements. This would also work well as a custom package, which we can discuss during our consultation.
